Objective 7

Apply a range of social work theories and evidence-based interventions with individuals, families, small groups, organizations, and communities in all types of settings. In Social Work 441 and  I had the opportunity to create a client case study. This paper utilized two specific theories (Ecological and Family Systems) in evaluating and meeting the needs of the client involved. In addition, in Social Work 413 I completed a process recording with a previous client which also incorporated theories and evidence-based interventions. Last but not least, I created an E-poster for Data Analysis class that incorporated the utilization of evidence-based interventions with individuals, organizations (DCS) and community resources.

Objective 8

Apply appropriate strategies for analyzing, formulating, influencing, and advocating for desired changes at all levels of government, and demonstrate a commitment to the principles of social and economic justice. In Social Work 410 Senior Policy and Practice and  Research 417, I learned how to advocate for policy change at all levels of government. This includes gaining community support, communicating with the media,places to find statistics to show evidence of a problem and locating potential targets for policy change. In addition to this, I completed 3 different types of policy briefs; qualitative, quantitative, and multidisciplinary.
